As Thanksgiving approaches, it’s a natural time to reflect on the people, places and experiences for which we’re grateful. At King-Bruwaert (K-B) House senior living community in Hinsdale/Burr Ridge, there’s certainly no shortage of reasons to give thanks. From its beautiful 35-acre campus and welcoming atmosphere to the friendships, experiences and opportunities that make each day meaningful, K-B House has long offered residents plenty to appreciate.
And this past year brought even more reasons to be thankful. Among the highlights:
Rooted in Beauty
Nature took center stage as K-B House’s beautiful wooded grounds achieved Arboretum Accreditation, a distinction that recognizes its collection of trees and commitment to caring for and preserving its natural surroundings. It’s another reason to appreciate the outdoor beauty residents enjoy every day.
A New Dimension of Care
Residents also gained a new resource for their healthcare with the arrival of UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Medical Group Primary Care at Burr Ridge. The on-site primary care practice brings convenient access to medical care right to the K-B House campus.
Hospitality with Heart
Hospitality received fresh attention with the introduction of Trish Leurck as the community’s new Senior Director of Hospitality. Her role reflects K-B House’s continued commitment to making every aspect of the resident experience welcoming, comfortable and exceptional.
Lifelong Learning Gets a New Chapter
Lifelong learning has long been part of life at K-B House, and this year it received a fresh new chapter. The community redeveloped its lifelong learning program and reintroduced it as the King-Bruwaert Institute, bringing a renewed identity and new opportunities for residents to explore interests, expand their knowledge and keep their curiosity thriving.
A Head Start on the Good Life
The year also marked the introduction of The Carrington Club Membership; a new initiative designed for those looking ahead to making K-B House their home. More than simply a place on the waitlist, membership offers future residents a head start on getting to know the community, building connections, and becoming part of the vibrant lifestyle that makes K-B House special. It’s an opportunity to establish relationships and enjoy a sense of belonging even before making the move.
A Little Friendly Competition
There was even something new this year to play with! A new bocce ball court adds another inviting outdoor gathering place where residents can enjoy a little friendly competition and time together.
Grateful for Yesterday, Excited for Tomorrow
As K-B House looks ahead, there are plenty of new possibilities on the horizon. But during this season of gratitude, it’s worth remembering that the community has already had so much to offer. This past year simply added to the many reasons residents are proud to call K-B House home, with even more opportunities, experiences and enhancements to enjoy.
