- The floor will be ready for the furniture install at the end of February.
- Installation of the safety guardrail at the curved section of the parking lot turnaround.
1st Floor:
- Working on the enclosed balcony exterior.
- Doors are continuing to be installed.
- Wires are being pulled, and other infrastructure work, to pave the way for millwork.
- All millwork and trim work will be completed on Garden level by the end of next week, so the week after all workers will come to the 1st floor to work on that floor exclusively.
The Gardens
- Concrete continues to be poured for footings and foundation walls.
- Agreements have been signed with ComEd and Nicor – working to ensure proper connections between the new building and the existing. Concrete will be poured this week for the foundation of the South side elevator. The North side elevator is complete.
- Focus is being placed on even the smallest of details at the Martin Jahn Nursing Pavilion. For example, the faux chimney masonry shown here. The fireplaces are not vented through this chimney, but the exterior of the building is designed to match the aesthetics of the Manor Home and its beautiful chimneys.
- Residents, family members, and guests alike will be greeted by a friendly KBH staff at the dedicated reception area as they enter at the main entrance of the pavilion. Very similar to the reception area in the Manor Home.
